CVE-2020-3239Network attack vector

Unauthenticated root code execution via ZIP traversal

Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

Directory traversal in Cisco UCS Director before 6.7.4.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code as root through a crafted ZIP upload. The LargeFileUploadServlet endpoint passes an unvalidated, user-supplied archive path to ApplianceStorageUtil unzip file operations. No authentication is required; exploitation writes attacker-controlled files outside the intended extraction directory and yields root-level execution.
