Authenticated command injection via crafted HTTP requests
Published Jun 3, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024
Command injection in the web UI of Cisco IOS XE Software allows remote authenticated users to alter device configurations. A specific web UI endpoint insufficiently validates crafted HTTP requests before passing injected IOS commands for execution. Read-only credentials and an enabled web UI are required; successful exploitation can change device configuration or interrupt service.
