Administrative command execution via unvalidated web UI input
Published Jun 3, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024
Command injection in the web UI of Cisco IOS XE Software allows remote authenticated users to execute administrative operating-system commands. The web UI fails to validate crafted user-supplied input before passing it for operating-system command execution. An affected IOS XE release must have the HTTP Server feature enabled, and exploitation requires authenticated web UI access; successful attacks gain administrative command execution.
