CVE-2020-3207

Secure Boot bypass via unvalidated boot options

Published Jun 3, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

Command injection in Cisco IOS XE Software switches allows local users with root shell access to execute code during device boot. Boot-option processing does not validate attacker-controlled values before using them, allowing modified options to inject code and bypass Secure Boot. Exploitation requires root shell access on an affected Catalyst switch and can establish malicious root-level code during the next boot.
