Remote code execution via UDP packet overflow

A buffer overflow in Cisco IOS on affected industrial routers allows remote attackers to execute code or force a device reload via UDP/9700. Inter-VM signaling code accepts packets from any device interface and performs incorrect bounds checks on packet values before processing them. The malicious packet must be addressed to the router itself rather than merely transit it; exploitation runs code in the IOS VM or reloads the device.
