CVE-2020-3187Network attack vector

Unauthenticated file read and deletion via URL traversal

Published May 6, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

Path traversal in Cisco ASA Software allows remote attackers to read or delete web-services files through crafted HTTP requests. The web services interface fails to validate directory traversal sequences in requested URLs before resolving file paths. The interface is exposed only when WebVPN or AnyConnect is enabled; access is limited to web-services data such as configuration, cookies, bookmarks, and URLs, and deleted files return after reload.
