Root code execution via malformed CDP headers

Buffer overflow in Cisco UCS Software allows adjacent attackers to execute code as root or interrupt service with a crafted CDP packet. The Cisco Discovery Protocol parser insufficiently validates packet headers before processing them, permitting attacker-controlled header values to overflow a buffer. Access requires Layer 2 adjacency in the same broadcast domain, and affected UCS 6200 or 6300 Fabric Interconnects keep CDP enabled on several port types.
