CVE-2020-3163Network attack vector

Unauthenticated reload via Live Data buffer exhaustion

Published Feb 19, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

A denial-of-service flaw in Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise before 12.5(1) allows remote attackers to reload devices via crafted Live Data packets. The Live Data server improperly manages resources while processing inbound packets, allowing multiple crafted packets to exhaust buffers and trigger a stack overflow. Exploitation requires sending the packets before a legitimate Live Data client connects because the port accepts only one TCP connection; successful attacks interrupt service by forcing a device reload.
