CVE-2020-3123Network attack vector

Unauthenticated DoS via DLP bounds read

Published Feb 5, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in the DLP module in ClamAV 0.102.1 and 0.102.0 allows remote attackers to cause a scanning-process crash via crafted email files. Improper bounds checking of an unsigned variable reads beyond the intended buffer when optional credit-card DLP processing handles malformed input. The attack requires the optional DLP feature to be enabled and access to submit a crafted file; the consequence is a ClamAV crash and denial of service without reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
