Authenticated privilege escalation via REST access-control bypass
Published Feb 19, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024
Improper access control in Cisco Data Center Network Manager before 11.3(1) allows remote authenticated users to gain API administrator privileges. The REST API accepts a crafted request from a low-privilege account without adequately validating authorization for the requested administrative operation. A valid low-privilege account and network access to the API are required; successful exploitation grants administrative API interaction.
