Arbitrary code execution via crafted image processing
Published Apr 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Code execution in ImageIO in Apple macOS before 11.1 allows attackers to run arbitrary code by processing a maliciously crafted image. ImageIO applies insufficient checks while parsing the crafted image, but Apple has not disclosed the exact parser path or invalid operation. Exploitation requires the target to process attacker-supplied image data, and successful execution runs in the context of the processing application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
