Arbitrary file read via path access check
Published Feb 18, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Path traversal in Atlassian Jira Server before 8.5.11 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via crafted resource paths. The CachingResourceDownloadRewriteRule class applies an incorrect path access check, allowing requests to reach files under WEB-INF and META-INF. No authentication is required, so reachable attackers can obtain application files; the documented impact is read-only disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
