Remote denial of service via leaked vncRec
Published Sep 2, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Memory leak in LibVNCClient 0.9.13 allows remote attackers to exhaust process memory and interrupt service during client cleanup. The rfbClientCleanup function fails to free the client->vncRec allocation, so repeated client lifecycles retain heap memory. Network access to an application exposing the affected library behavior is required; the documented consequence is availability loss rather than data disclosure or modification.
