Database denial of service via undisclosed optimizer flaw
Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Sep 27, 2024
Denial of service in Oracle MySQL Server 8.0.19 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to hang or repeatedly crash the server. Oracle identifies the Server: Optimizer component but has not published the optimizer operation or input that triggers the failure. Exploitation requires a high-privileged account with network access through an affected protocol and interrupts database availability without reported data exposure or modification.
