Authenticated server crash through undisclosed plugin flaw
Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Sep 27, 2024
Denial of service in Oracle MySQL Server 8.0.19 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash or hang the server. Oracle identifies the affected locus as the Server Group Replication Plugin but does not disclose the operation it performs incorrectly on untrusted input. Exploitation requires high privileges, network access through the MySQL protocol, and a server configured with the Group Replication plugin; impact is limited to service interruption.
