CVE-2020-2909

Partial service interruption

Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Sep 27, 2024

Denial of service in Oracle VM VirtualBox Core before 5.2.40, 6.0.20, and 6.1.6 allows local users to interrupt the hypervisor. Oracle identifies the vulnerable locus only as the Core component and has not published the operation on untrusted input that triggers the interruption. A low-privileged user logged on where VirtualBox executes must involve another person; the bounded result is partial service interruption, with no confidentiality or integrity impact.
