Unauthenticated code execution via deserialized cart cookie
Published Mar 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
PHP object injection in Fivestar Plugins Five Star Restaurant Menu 2.2.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted cookie. The load_cart_from_cookie method in includes/class-cart-manager.php passes the untrusted fdm_cart cookie directly to PHP unserialize before checking the resulting value. No authentication or user interaction is required; execution depends on a usable gadget chain already loaded by the WordPress installation.
