CVE-2020-29023Network attack vector

Command execution via unescaped CSV formulas

Published Feb 16, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

CSV formula injection in Secomea GateManager before 9.3 allows remote authenticated users to create CSV files that execute commands when opened. The CSV Report Generator writes administrator-controlled cell values without neutralizing spreadsheet formula prefixes, so crafted data is treated as a formula. Administrative access is required to generate the file, and a victim must open it in a formula-capable spreadsheet for commands to run on that victim's computer.
