Out-of-bounds write in VirtualBox Core before 5.2.40, 6.0.20, or 6.1.6 allows local users to execute code through D3D9 shaders. D3D9 shader-object handling fails to validate user-supplied data before writing it, permitting a write past an allocated buffer. A low-privilege user with host logon can compromise the VirtualBox process and cross its security scope, affecting confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
