Buffer overflow in FlashGet 1.9.6 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt process memory through a crafted FTP PWD response. Its current-directory-path handler accepts an overlong directory string returned by an attacker-controlled FTP server, overflowing its buffer and overwriting registers. Exploitation requires FlashGet to connect to the malicious server using a low-privilege or guest account; success compromises the client process or its file-system access.
