Authenticated database hang or repeatable crash
Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Sep 27, 2024
Denial of service in Oracle MySQL Server 8.0.19 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to hang or repeatedly crash the server. The flaw resides in the Server Optimizer, but Oracle has not published the affected optimizer operation or the input that triggers it. A network-reachable MySQL protocol endpoint and a highly privileged account are required; exploitation interrupts database availability without reported data disclosure or modification.
