Stored XSS via unfiltered view-title URL scheme
Published Jan 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Checkmk 1.6.0p18 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a shared view title. The GUI Escaper selectively unescapes anchor href attributes without rejecting javascript schemes, leaving a crafted title link executable. Exploitation requires permission to configure and share a custom view plus a victim click; the code then runs in the victim's browser context, allowing data access or interface manipulation.
