Stored XSS via unsanitized fused-server alert data
Published May 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Nagios Fusion 4.1.8 and earlier allows remote attackers controlling a fused server to execute JavaScript in a user's browser. Fusion stores encoded, serialized recent-alert data from fused servers in polled_extras and renders the output field in dashboard dashlets without sanitization. Exploitation requires control of a fused server and a Fusion user to view the tainted dashboard; the script runs with that user's browser-session privileges.
