Administrator command execution via Gogo Shell
Published Jan 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
OS command injection in Liferay Portal Server 7.3.5 GA6 and 7.2.0 GA1 allows remote authenticated users with administrator privileges to execute commands. The Gogo Shell module accepts administrator-supplied commands and executes them on the portal server, which the developer disputes as intended functionality rather than a design flaw. Reaching the behavior requires administrator authentication; successful use can execute arbitrary operating-system commands with the server process privileges.
