Local code execution via development plugin loading
Published Feb 26, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
DLL injection in ownCloud Desktop Client before 2.7 allows local users to execute code through a planted development plugin. The released client enables development-plugin search paths in production and loads a library from those directories when one is present. Exploitation requires a crafted library in a searched local directory and user interaction that causes the client to load it; the code runs in the client's context.
