Code execution via unchecked SLoop index
Published Apr 18, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Nef_S2 parsing in CGAL Project CGAL 5.1.1 allows attackers to execute code via a malformed Nef file. SNC_io_parser::read_facet() uses an unchecked file-supplied index to read SLoop_of and stores the object in fh->boundary_entry_objects(). The consuming application must parse the file; the invalid object reference can cause type confusion and code execution in that process.
