Code execution via unchecked Nef facet index
Published Apr 18, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in CGAL 5.1.1 Nef polygon parsing allows remote attackers to execute code via a malformed geometry file. SNC_io_parser::read_facet uses an unvalidated file-supplied index to read SEdge_of and append that object to a facet boundary. The vulnerable library must parse attacker-supplied Nef data; the invalid reference can cause type confusion and code execution in the host process.
