Code execution via unchecked Nef halfedge index
Published Apr 18, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in CGAL Project CGAL 5.1.1 Nef_S2 parsing allows remote attackers to execute code through a malformed Nef file. SNC_io_parser::read_vertex() accepts a nonnegative file index and reads SEdge_of[index] without verifying that it is within the container. A CGAL-consuming application must parse attacker-supplied Nef data; NVD assesses user interaction as required, while Talos does not.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
