CVE-2020-28590Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Process-memory disclosure via unchecked OBJ facet indices

Published Apr 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in Slic3r libslic3r 1.3.0 and commit 92abbc42 allows attackers to disclose process memory via a crafted OBJ file. TriangleMesh::TriangleMesh uses attacker-controlled OBJ facet indices to index the points vector without validating that each index is within bounds. Processing the file is the reachability gate; the resulting arbitrary out-of-range read can expose Slic3r process data, while the demonstrated invalid access terminates processing.
