Regular expression denial of service in GulpJS glob-parent before 5.1.2 allows remote attackers to cause service interruption via crafted glob strings. The enclosure regular expression in index.js backtracks excessively while checking bracketed or braced strings containing path separators, consuming CPU until the calling process becomes unresponsive. Exploitation requires a consuming application to pass attacker-controlled glob text; the package itself has no network listener, so impact is limited to availability of that host application.
