Unauthenticated command execution via shell interpolation
Published Jul 25, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Command injection in Shajan Jacob ffmpeg-sdk allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via crafted arguments. The exported execute function passes its command string directly to Node.js child_process.exec, while clip and audio helpers interpolate file paths into shell commands. Exploitation requires a network-facing application to forward attacker-controlled input; successful injection can read or modify data and interrupt service.
