CVE-2020-28433Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Command execution via unquoted destination path

Published Aug 2, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Command injection in Toolbuddy node-latex-pdf 0.0.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute commands via crafted path arguments. The exported conversion function concatenates source and destination paths into a pdflatex command passed to child_process.exec without quoting or validation. Exploitation requires a consuming application to pass attacker-controlled path data, and injected shell metacharacters run commands with that application's privileges.
