Code execution via malformed PAR file parsing
Published Jan 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Siemens JT2Go, Solid Edge, and Teamcenter Visualization allows attackers to execute code through a crafted PAR file. The PAR parser fails to validate file-controlled data before writing beyond a memory location associated with a read-only image address. Exploitation requires a user to open an untrusted file, and successful code runs in the current process context.
