Remote code execution via Ethernet Download input
Published Jan 25, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper validation in Operator Terminal Expert and Pro-face BLUE 3.1 SP1A and earlier allows remote attackers to run code via Ethernet Download. Schneider Electric has not published the affected parser or the precise input-validation error in the Ethernet Download request-handling path. Exposure requires Ethernet Download to be enabled on an HMI; crafted network input then executes arbitrary code on the terminal.
