Stack buffer overflow in IBM Tivoli Storage Manager 5.2.0.1 allows local users to execute code via an oversized interactive identifier. The dsmadmc.exe prompt places the id input in a fixed stack buffer without enforcing its 68-byte control-data boundary, so excess bytes overwrite EIP. Exploitation requires local interactive-mode input; length limits prevent the documented payload from reaching the overflow through batch or command-line arguments.
