Authenticated code execution via unrestricted PHP upload
Published Mar 31, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Simple College Website 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP code through system settings. The save_settings action in /alumni/admin/ajax.php accepts a PHP file in the img field, stores it under /alumni/admin/assets/uploads/, and leaves it web-accessible for execution. Administrative access is required for this flaw alone; the published exploit chains a separate SQL injection to obtain a session before uploading and requesting the reverse-shell file.
