Root privilege escalation via log-file link attack

Link-following in Exim before 4.94.2 allows local users with Exim-account privileges to overwrite root-owned files via crafted links. While running as root, Exim opens predictable log paths in a directory writable by the Exim user without rejecting symlinks or hard links. Control of the Exim service account is required; redirecting a log write to a file such as /etc/passwd grants root privileges.
