Authenticated file disclosure via crafted directory path
Published Feb 3, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in SolarWinds Serv-U before 15.2.2 allows remote authenticated users to read files outside their home directory. The Web Client's List command accepts a crafted dir value containing backslash parent-directory segments and fails to constrain the resolved path to the user's assigned root. Exploitation requires an account locked to its directory with directory listing enabled, and it exposes readable host files and directory names without reported write access.
