Authentication bypass via improper password-recovery state tracking
Published Feb 4, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Authentication bypass in NETGEAR R7450 1.2.0.62_1.0.1 allows network-adjacent attackers to gain router access without credentials. The mini_httpd service on TCP port 80 improperly tracks security-critical state across password-recovery requests. Password recovery must be enabled, and the bypass alone grants unauthorized router access; root code execution requires chaining another flaw.
