CVE-2020-27863

Credential disclosure via unsanitized URL matching

Published Feb 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Authentication bypass in D-Link DVA-2800 and DSL-2888A firmware 2.30_AU allows network-adjacent attackers to read stored credentials. The dhttpd service fails to sanitize request paths before matching URLs against protected pages, allowing crafted paths to evade authentication. No authentication is required, but the attacker must reach default TCP port 8008 from an adjacent network; successful requests expose credentials that enable further compromise.
