CVE-2020-27839Network attack vector

Session-token theft via script-readable browser storage

Published May 26, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Insufficiently protected credentials in Ceph Dashboard 14.2.16 and earlier and 15.2.0 through 15.2.8 allow remote authenticated users to steal JWTs. The Angular frontend writes the authentication token to browser localStorage, where injected same-origin JavaScript can read it. Exploitation requires dashboard credentials and cross-site scripting execution in an authenticated user's browser, exposing that user's dashboard privileges.
