CVE-2020-27768

Denial of service via unsigned integer overflow

Published Feb 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Integer overflow in ImageMagick before 7.0.9-0 allows attackers to interrupt image processing via crafted image data. MagickCore/quantum-private.h performs arithmetic that produces a value outside the representable unsigned-int range, causing undefined behavior during quantum calculations. Exploitation requires local image-processing execution and user interaction; the bounded consequence is a process interruption or crash rather than confidentiality or integrity loss.
