High-privilege service interruption via undisclosed privilege handling
Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Sep 30, 2024
Denial of service in MySQL Server 8.0.18 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to hang or repeatedly crash the server. Oracle identifies the affected locus only as Server: Security: Privileges and has not published the operation that mishandles input. A highly privileged account and network access through a supported protocol are required; successful exploitation interrupts database availability without reported data disclosure or modification.
