Denial of service in the MySQL Server optimizer in 5.7.29 and earlier and 8.0.19 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash the server. Oracle identifies the Server: Optimizer component but has not published the malformed operation, query shape, or optimizer code path involved. Exploitation requires a highly privileged account with network access over a supported protocol and causes a hang or repeatable crash without reported data disclosure or modification.
