Browser script execution via raw search rendering
Published Apr 30, 2024 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in SimplCommerce allows remote attackers to execute scripts in a shopper’s browser through a crafted product search. The search-results Index.cshtml view passes the user-controlled search term directly to Html.Raw, so Razor emits attacker-supplied markup without encoding or sanitization. No authentication is required, but a user must open the crafted search; the script then runs in the storefront origin and can read page data or act with that user’s session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
