HL7 segment injection via barcode reader

Improper neutralization in VC150 before 1.7.15 allows physically proximate attackers to alter HL7 messages via a barcode reader. The monitor accepts barcode-reader parameters in specific HL7 v2.x messages without properly delimiting segment data, so injected HL7 segments are incorporated into outgoing messages. Physical access to a connected barcode reader is required; altered messages can affect patient data flows and monitor output integrity.
