CVE-2020-27250Public exploit

Code execution via trusted Office Art record length

Published Feb 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Heap-based buffer overflow in SoftMaker Software GmbH PlanMaker 2021 Revision 1014 allows attackers to execute code through a crafted file. In CEscherObject::ReadNativeProperties, handlers for Version/Instance 0x0005 and 0x0016 trust a uint32 record length and copy stream data into an approximately 0xec-byte object member. Exploitation requires a victim to open the malicious document and runs code in the context of the PlanMaker process.
