Cleartext transmission in all Moxa NPort IA5000A Series versions allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read sensitive Moxa Service traffic. Moxa Service sends authentication data, device configuration, firmware version, and other traffic without transport protection on UDP 4800 or TCP 4900. Exploitation requires network position to intercept a session initiated through DSU or NPort Search Utility while Moxa Service is enabled.
