CVE-2020-27149Network attack vector

Authenticated configuration changes via missing role enforcement

Published May 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper access control in Moxa NPort IA5000A firmware allows remote authenticated users to change configuration through the web console. The web console accepts configuration-changing requests from Read Only accounts instead of enforcing the role's authorization boundary. Read Only credentials and an enabled web console are required; exploitation can alter device settings or raise the controlled account's privilege.
