CVE-2020-2705Public exploit

Hypervisor memory disclosure via VMSVGA out-of-bounds read

Published Jan 15, 2020 · Updated Sep 30, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in Oracle VM VirtualBox Core before 5.2.36, 6.0.16, or 6.1.2 allows local users to read hypervisor data. The shader_glsl_load_constantsI function fails to validate user-supplied shader constants, reading past an allocated object boundary. Exploitation requires low-privilege code execution in the guest or host environment and can disclose sensitive information from the hypervisor; code execution chaining is possible but not required for the stated impact.
